<em><strong>This is an indirect heating type of rotary dryer that brings materials into indirect contact with heating medium to provide heat exchanging. </strong></em><br />
<em><strong>The indirect heating type of rotary dryer is classified into external heating rotary dryer and steam tube dryer, which are applied for the following conditions. </strong></em></p>
<p>If you use materials that are easily affected by contact with combustion gas.</p>
<p>If you need to minimize the amount of exhaust gas from the dryer.</p>
<p>If you use materials that are apt to produce dust.</p>
<p>If you use materials that are easily affected by oxidation.</p>
<p>If you need to recover volatile component.</p>

<h2>Construction</h2>
<p>The main unit of the rotary dryer is an inclined shell supported by four rollers. Materials, which are fed through one end of the shell, move inside the shell along the inclination of the shell and through the rotary movement and are discharged from the other end. Materials, while moving inside the shell, are lifted up by a lifter incorporated in the shell. Then, the materials fall evenly in the shell space and exchange heat with the hot air flowing through the space to dry. Depending on the method of providing hot air for the materials, this dryer is classified into two types, that is, concurrent flow drying type by which the hot air and materials flow in the same direction and countercurrent flow drying type by which they flow in the opposite direction.<br />
<b>Lifter</b><br />
The lifter is the most critical part having an influence on the performance of the dryer, which provides uniform dispersion of materials in the shell space. Any of the constructions shown below is used according to the physical properties of materials. Furthermore, spiral lifters designed with consideration of forced feeding of materials are used for the material feeding end.</p>

<p><b>Adjustment of residence time</b><br />
By providing dams according to the applications, the materials residence time can be adjusted.</p>
<p><b>Prevention of adhesion and accumulation</b><br />
In order to handle materials of high adhesive property, chains are provided in the shell or a hammering unit is provided externally on the shell, thus preventing material adhesion and accumulation.</p>
<p><b>Concurrent flow and countercurrent flow</b><br />
Concurrent flow drying type<br />
With the concurrent flow drying type, the materials move and the hot air flows in the same direction. Therefore, the hot air of the highest applicable temperature comes in contact with materials of the lowest applicable temperature at the end of the material inlet of the rotary shell. Normally, the concurrent flow drying type is used for the following conditions.</p>
<p>Countercurrent flow drying type<br />
With the countercurrent flow drying type, the relation of flow direction and temperature between the hot air and the materials becomes reverse equivalent of the concurrent flow drying type. Therefore, this type is used especially in the case that low-moisture products are required, taking advantage of its characteristic that the hot air of the highest applicable temperature comes in contact with materials of the lowest moisture at the end of the material outlet.</p>

By passing the solvent-containing gas through the granulated active carbon layer, the solvent is adsorbed to the active carbon to exhaust clean air. By blowing vapor into the active carbon layer after the solvent is adsorbed, the solvent is isolated from the active carbon, and recovered after condensation and separation. </strong></em></p>

<h2>Operating Process</h2>
<p>The Kurimoto Solvent Recovery System enables the elimination and recovery of solvent contained in flue gas by performing the following processes in order of &#8220;Adsorption&#8221;, &#8220;Isolation&#8221;, and &#8220;Drying&#8221;. By using two active carbon adsorption towers, the continuous treatment of flue gas is enabled.</p>

<p>The solvent-containing gas is sucked by the blower. When the gas passes through the granulated active carbon layer, the solvent is adsorbed to the active carbon, where it turns into clean air to be exhausted.</p>

<p>Steam is blown into the adsorption tower from its bottom to purge the solvent adsorbed to the active carbon. The isolated solvent vapor passes through the condenser where it is liquefied, and it is recovered by gravity separation through the separator.</p>

<p>The active carbon, which has got wet in the isolation process, is dried by hot air generated through the steam air heater and, then, cooled by air of ambient temperature.</p>

The hot air is fed from this annular section through the gaps between the vanes and exhausted through the material layer, which continuously moves. The material is fed into the internal shell from the same direction as that at the hot air inlet and dried along with the shell rotation while continuously moving to the outlet. </strong></em></p>

<p><b>Large hold-up available</b><br />
It is possible to provide 15 to 20% of hold-up compared to 10% with other types of rotary dryers, making it possible to reduce the volume of the dryer.</p>

This dryer has no process to lift the materials up and down with a lifting wing, suppressing the destruction of the material particles.</p>

This dryer is used to dry formed materials, enabling you to get homogeneous products with uneven drying diminished.</p>
<p><b>Products of low moisture content are discharged.</b><br />
Extended contact time makes it possible to dry materials of high internal moisture up to considerably low moisture content.</p>
<p><b>Minimized material destruction</b><br />
Materials are dried in a state of packed layer, enabling you to get products with minimized particle destruction.</p>
<p><b>Short drying time</b><br />
Compared to concurrent-flow compartment dryers, you are able to finish drying step in far shorter period of time.</p>

<p>Orifice butterfly valve controls flow at high differential pressure<br />
1. Anti-cavitation structure<br />
Achieves flow control at high differential pressure by multiple distributed<br />
nozzles which divide the flow at all opening degrees.<br />
2. Low noise<br />
Possible to modulate the flows at high flow rate without making noise.<br />
3. Light and compact<br />
More compact than sluice and globe valves by adopting the butterfly valve<br />
structure.<br />
4. Water sealing by rubber seat<br />
Has excellent water sealing, same as the JWWA B 138 butterfly valve.</p>
<h2>Merit</h2>
<p>1. Standard Butterfly valve</p>
<p>As the valve opens, a crescent shape opening gets bigger.<br />
2. Multi-hole variable orifice valve<br />
The breakdown of flow in to multiple small jets reduces noise and makes throttling more effective with less cavitation, even as the valve opens up.<br />
3. Orifice butterfly valve<br />
Cavitation is suppressed by multiple distributed nozzles which divide flow and the valve opens . This can achieve higher performance than multi-hole<br />
variable orifice valves.</p>

The shell, due to its equilateral hexagonal cross section, minimizes the &#8220;shear&#8221; of the material layer to provide a sharp distribution of residence time, enabling you to get stable and high quality products of uneven firing.</strong></em></p>
<h2>Features</h2>
<p><b>Equilateral hexagonal shell employed (Refer to Figure-1.)</b><br />
Compared to cylindrical shell, this shall provides less &#8220;shear&#8221; of the material layer, a sharp distribution of residence time, and less uneven calcining, increasing the material holding ratio to make the equipment compact in size.</p>

<p><b>Introduction of superb air sealing performance and special sealing construction enables sealing up to a maximum of pressure of kiln internal pressure±500Pa.</b></p>
<p><b>Besides oxidized (i.e., in the air) or neutral (i.e., nitrogen gas or carbon dioxide gas) gas, reducing gas can be used.</b><br />
Carrier gas or reaction gas can be charged thanks to the improved sealing performance.</p>
<p><b>Severe calcining temperature control enabled</b><br />
The calcining temperature is directly measured with sheathed thermocouples inserted in the material layer.<br />
Introducing the multi-chamber type of electric furnace enables independent temperature control of each chamber.<br />
The material temperature is selectable up to a maximum of 1000ºC. Furthermore, if you use gas or heavy oil as the heat source, please introduce the hot air circulation system for energy savings.</p>
<p><b>Easy settings of residence time</b><br />
The shell speed varies with the use of the variable speed motor (10:1). Furthermore, variable inclination system is also available for the shell.</p>
<p><b>Easy installation</b><br />
The retort, heating oven, and feeder are set up on the common platform, facilitating the installation work. Small-sized kilns come with casters (wheels) for relocation use.</p>

Superb air-tightness enables application to the high temperature reaction process of various kinds of powders in an acid, neutral, or reducing atmosphere.</p>

You should put grinding medium (usually small-diameter balls) and material in the rotating mill pot to move the balls applying centrifugal force generated during revolution and rotation for processing (i.e., grinding).</strong></em><br />
<em><strong>The name, &#8220;Planetary Mill&#8221;, is derived from the mill pot&#8217;s revolution and rotation like the sun-and-planet motion. </strong></em></p>

<h2>Construction</h2>
<p>The main unit of the rotary dryer is an inclined shell supported by four rollers. Materials, which are fed through one end of the shell, move inside the shell along the inclination of the shell and through the rotary movement and are discharged from the other end. Materials, while moving inside the shell, are lifted up by a lifter incorporated in the shell. Then, the materials fall evenly in the shell space and exchange heat with the hot air flowing through the space to dry. Depending on the method of providing hot air for the materials, this dryer is classified into two types, that is, concurrent flow drying type by which the hot air and materials flow in the same direction and countercurrent flow drying type by which they flow in the opposite direction.<br />
<b>Lifter</b><br />
The lifter is the most critical part having an influence on the performance of the dryer, which provides uniform dispersion of materials in the shell space. Any of the constructions shown below is used according to the physical properties of materials. Furthermore, spiral lifters designed with consideration of forced feeding of materials are used for the material feeding end.</p>

<p><b>Adjustment of residence time</b><br />
By providing dams according to the applications, the materials residence time can be adjusted.</p>
<p><b>Prevention of adhesion and accumulation</b><br />
In order to handle materials of high adhesive property, chains are provided in the shell or a hammering unit is provided externally on the shell, thus preventing material adhesion and accumulation.</p>
<p><b>Concurrent flow and countercurrent flow</b><br />
Concurrent flow drying type<br />
With the concurrent flow drying type, the materials move and the hot air flows in the same direction. Therefore, the hot air of the highest applicable temperature comes in contact with materials of the lowest applicable temperature at the end of the material inlet of the rotary shell. Normally, the concurrent flow drying type is used for the following conditions.</p>
<p>Countercurrent flow drying type<br />
With the countercurrent flow drying type, the relation of flow direction and temperature between the hot air and the materials becomes reverse equivalent of the concurrent flow drying type. Therefore, this type is used especially in the case that low-moisture products are required, taking advantage of its characteristic that the hot air of the highest applicable temperature comes in contact with materials of the lowest moisture at the end of the material outlet.</p>

<p>When such an emergency should arise as an earthquake or earth-avalanche damaging pipelines or their deterioration in use, Kurimoto&#8217;s emergency shut-off valve would not only automatically, safely and quickly shut off the affected pipeline, thereby securing the valuable water supply, but preclude the secondary disaster from effluent.<br />
The emergency shut-off valve comprises a valve body, locking device, self-closing device(weight), hydraulic shock absorber, actuator etc., and the valve body is fabricated in conformity with JIS-B-2064 Butterfly valve for water service.
