  Connecting the SIU to a personal computer is simple. You only need a dedicated connector cable to link the RS-232C port of the SMP to the SIU.

  The SIU’s LEDs provide quick status feedback. The green [+5V] LED shows the communication system is receiving power. The [TXN] and [TXD] LEDs flash to indicate active communication with the SMP and the network. If there are issues with Port A or Port B, the yellow [ATBL] and [BTBL] LEDs will light up.

Description of CNI016N

• The SMP software is installed on a personal computer. It connects to the FACP network through the System Interface Unit (SIU). With this setup, the system monitors FACPs, displays ongoing events, and provides control functions.The software operates in three modes: Design Mode, Run Mode, and Remote Mode. In Design Mode, users can arrange device symbols on floor plans from DXF or BMP files. These symbols are assigned to addresses corresponding to the FACP. The SMP reads the FACP configuration data, creating a list of symbols for the floor plans. Each SMP is assigned a unique node and group number for network identification.In Run Mode, the software highlights device symbols when an event occurs. For example, normal conditions are white, pre-alarm conditions are magenta, supervisory events are orange, trouble conditions are yellow, and alarms are red. The screen also displays detailed event data, such as date, time, status, device message, address, and zone number.

  With Remote Mode, users can monitor FACPs from a distant location. This mode works via VPN and supports up to 64 FACPs.

If long wiring is required, use a maximum of 127 devices with 50 ohms loop resistance and 0.5µF loop capacitance. The foam expansion ratio reaches about 650 times through the aspirator method, even while aspirating smoke in the fire room. Unlike traditional high-expansion foam fire extinguishers, this method overcomes the reduction in foam expansion typically caused by smoke and hot air from combustibles.

Smoke Containment and Spread Prevention

Trapped in bubbles, the smoke stays within the fire extinguishing area, preventing spread. The foam contains and extinguishes smoke quickly. At a convention held by the Architectural Institute of Japan on September 11, 2010, an article entitled “Study on the effects of sound environment to precision instruments”. According to this article, noise of 110 dB or larger may cause potential damage to HDDs.

Description

The PNU series discharge nozzle is used as a component of the NN100 Fire Extinguishing System. There are two sizes of nozzles, 25PNU (25mm) and 32PNU (32mm). Each nozzle has a deflector which causes the diffused agent from the orifice to be directed in the horizontal direction and discharged in the specified pattern.

The nozzle is made of Brass and has the orifice code specified by the flow calculation program. The inlet is provided with ISO 7-1 R female threads for connection with the piping. The adapter is available as an option when the piping connection is NPT thread.

The nozzle has a large area capability. The design factors including maximum area coverage, maximum height limitations, and nozzle location in the protected area shall be determined in accordance with the NN100 Design Manual.

Two types of nozzle installation are available. The nozzle can be either flush mounted at the ceiling surface or surface mounted just below the ceiling. For their simple design and attractive chromate plated finish, these nozzles are best suited for installation in computer rooms, libraries, electric rooms, etc.

• The PD series selector valve is used as a component of the NN100 Fire Extinguishing System. This valve is used for selectively directing the flow of the agent to the separate hazard space when the NN100 system is designed to individually protect multiple hazards.The actuating pressure from the CO₂ actuating cylinder or N₂ pilot cylinder automatically opens a selector valve and the extinguishing agent is discharged through the selector valve.

  The inlet and outlet of the selector valve are provided with ISO 7-1 R threads for connection with the piping. As an option, the adapter for NPT thread is available.

Description of PDCJ002-E

• NOHMI’s high-performance location lamps model FLPJ002(W) and FLPJ004(W) are used for, but not limited to, notifying occupants of the location of a manual fire alarm box.The location lamps were designed based on a new concept considering functionality, accessibility, and usability. Thanks to the new design concept, the ring-shaped location lamp FLPJ004(W) won the Japan Good Design Gold Award 2014 together with the compact-shaped FMNN, FMRN, and FMBN SERIES manual fire alarm boxes.The location lamp FLPJ004(W) is installed together with the compact manual fire alarm box, which is positioned around the manual alarm box so that the exact location of the manual alarm box can be found even in dark places.
• The flat-shaped location lamp FLPJ002(W) should be installed on the wall just above a manual fire alarm box, to be clearly seen at a position within 10 meters from the location lamp.These location lamps without using any fragile materials are provided with a red LED lamp per unit as a light source, which has light-emitting diodes in it.
• These location lamps can be repeatedly turned on and off within a short interval of time to indicate the hydrant pump starting by using together with the NOHMI hydrant pump starter relay box.
