Application

Application

There are 3 type of cermet, TiC-TiN, Carbide and Nitride. PVD coated cermet also available.

Especially TiC-TiN cermet is superior to high heat resistance and anti-oxidization comparing to WC. Thanks to low affinity of workpiece, good surface condition after cutting is expected.

This series has a good wear resistant at high speed finishing of gray cast iron.

Ceramics series（Alumina TiC-based Ceramics）HC2・HC4・HC6・HC7・ZC7

Application

Semi finishing and/or finishing operation for gray cast iron and ductile. Even for hard turning available.

Features

Adding TIC compound to high purity alumina composition, so that it gains more toughness.

This series keeps the hardness and toughness at high temperature, so that it matches to machining after sintering material.

Ceramics series（Whisker-based ceramics）WA5・WA1

Application

Cutting heat-resistant alloys, such as inconel, waspaloy, etc., and gray cast iron.

Features

This grade has a higher level of wear resistance, toughness and flaking resistance by adding SiC whiskers to major compose of alumina.

Ceramics series（Silicon nitride-based ceramics） SX6・SX7・SX9・SP9

Application

SX6 & SP9 is suited for rough operation in turning and milling for gray cast iron. And SX7 & SX9 is suited for high speed machining for heat-resistant alloy, Inconel.
