An alarm signal is output when the rotation speed of the fan deteriorates due to ingress of foreign particles, etc. This helps with predictive maintenance of equipment issues, as fans can be ordered and replaced before equipment is damaged by heat. When air-cooling a load, the faster the wind speed, the less time it takes to cool. Ideal for spot cooling during heat processing.

The Centrifugal Blower is a Cooling Fan That Sends Out a Directed Wind With High Static Pressure

Structure of Centrifugal Blowers (Sirocco fans)

Impellers (forward-facing blades) are arranged in a cylindrical shape inside the centrifugal blower.
The centrifugal force created by rotating the impeller with a motor generates a swirling flow almost perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The swirling flow is rectified in 1 direction by a casing called a scroll, increasing the pressure. This restricts the exhaust outlet and concentrates the wind to be sent out in a specific direction.

Features Large Air Flow

The MRS Series provides a large air flow and fast air circulation and is suitable for ventilation and cooling to cool the entire interior of the equipment.
When the ventilation resistance inside the equipment is large, it is better to use a large fan with large air flow and high static pressure to save energy and reduce wiring.

Contact type fans with low-speed alarms have contact points that turn ON when rotation is normal, and can be connected in series as shown in the figure below.

Brake Mechanism

Reversible motors have a simple built-in brake mechanism (friction brake) at the rear of the motor.
This brake mechanism is installed for the following purposes.

• To improve the instant reversing characteristics by adding a frictional load.
• To reduce overrun.

The brake mechanism is constructed as shown in the figure. The coil spring applies constant pressure to allow the brake shoe to slide toward the brake disk.
This mechanism provides a certain degree of holding force, but the brake force is limited due to the mechanism’s structure, and we set it to approximately 10 % of the motor’s output torque.

Torque Adjustment (Digital setting type, RS-485 communication type)

A torque limiting function is provided to reduce the torque generated by the motor.
The range of maximum instantaneous torque can be set from 0 to 200 %, with 100 % at the rated torque.
The MEXE02 support software also allows you to monitor the load factor and output information at an arbitrarily set threshold (torque value).

Standstill and Holding by Electromagnetic Brake Electromagnetic Brake Motor

The electromagnetic brake motor can hold the position during horizontal driving.
It can hold the stop position when stopping the equipment to reload or process workpieces, or hold the load in the event of blackout or other unforeseen circumstances.

Note

This product is not suitable for usages requiring vertical movement, such as gravitational operations.

Confirm Motor Stop by MOVE Output (Digital setting type, RS-485 communication type)

The MOVE output can be used to check when to turn off the electromagnetic brake.

Even when rotating at a certain speed, there will be slight fluctuation in the actual speed around the target rotation speed. Flutter happens when speed fluctuates due to mechanical interactions.

*Dwell time is the wait time until the next positioning operation starts.

Continuous Rotation in the Same Direction is Possible

When the command position exceeds the “wrap setting range” parameter value, the system can return the command position and multiple rotation data to 0. This reset of the multiple rotation data allows for continuous rotation in the same direction.

All models can be selected with or without an electromagnetic brake. The electromagnetic brake is automatically controlled to turn ON/OFF according to the operation command signal to the driver.

Capable of Vertical Operation (Gravitational operation)

With an electromagnetic brake, stable speed control is possible even when driving vertical operation.

Capable of Position Holding When Stopped

Position holding when driving in a vertical direction^* or horizontal direction is possible.
When driving horizontally, it is possible to set servo lock at motor standstill, which excites the motor to generate a holding force.

*For vertical operation (gravitational operation), use a product with an electromagnetic brake.

Prevents Loads From Falling in an Emergency

The electromagnetic brake is of the power off activated type, so it works automatically even when power is lost in a blackout. Instantly stops the motor and prevents the load from falling.

It can be used for applications that require adjustment of torque and tension, such as tension (brake), pushing (pressing), and tightening.

Motor Structure

A sealing insert (O-ring) is used for the mating part to prevent water from entering the inside of the motor.

Connector Structure

The connector structure has a built-in gasket and O-ring for improved waterproofing.
It is IP67-compliant, including the connector part.

Improved Anti-Corrosion Properties

Special rust-resistant coating is applied, and stainless steel material is used for the output shaft and screws. The mounting surface is also painted to prevent rusting, even when assembled to stainless steel equipment.

Matches a Clean Environment

No cooling fan needed, because of the high efficiency motor. Therefore, there is no need to worry about generating dust from outside.
