When using hot-dip galvanized high-strength bolts for building structures, the approval of the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is usually required for each building structure.
However, we have obtained the certification of “Hot-dip galvanized high-strength bolt joint” from the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Therefore, when using our hot-dip galvanized high-strength bolts (GH bolts) and designing and constructing in accordance with the “design and construction guidelines” and “construction management guidelines”, individual certification for each property is not required. You can use it freely.
Hot-dip galvanized high-strength bolts have the following features.

• The amount of plating adhered is 550 g / ㎡ or more, and it has excellent long-term rust prevention.
• Since the nut is plated after threading, rust prevention on the threaded part is sufficiently ensured.
• The strength of the bolt is highly tough and stable.
• Since the nut is lubricated after plating, the torque coefficient value is stable and the workability by the nut rotation method is excellent.

We have developed 12G hot dip galvanized high strength hexagon bolt (trade name: 12GSHTB) and acquired certification by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (certification number: MBLT – 0064).
This is a development of the technology of the Torsha type ultra high strength bolt (trade name: SHTB) which already has many sales results. In the future, you can use it for various buildings, multi-level parking lot, bridge, steel tower etc.

【Precautions for use】

• Please use SHTB in indoor environment. Also, please do not use it indoors under the corrosive environment such as hot spring facilities, hot water pool etc. (For delayed breakdown prevention) If you are unsure about the use environment, please consult us.
• 12 G SHTB (12 G hot dip galvanized high strength hexagon bolt) is available for outdoor use, so please consult us separately.
• Since the introduction tension of SHTB is higher than ordinary high tension bolt, please use the corresponding tightening machine.
• When tightening, please check the mark of the bolt head.

Design (Architecture)

The allowable shearing force of high strength bolts

The allowable shearing force is calculated in accordance with the following equation in which slip factor is regarded as a constant of 0.4, the allowable tensile force observes the “Standard Design of Rigid Structures” indicated by the Japan Architecture Society.

Execution Work

Fastening the high strength bolt

Primary Fastening: Primary fastening includes tightening the temporary fastening bolt, checking the contact with the parts and then turning the nut according to the torque value indicated right, for all bolts.

Marking: Mark the bolt, nut, washer and parts after primary fastening to check the degree of primary fastening, measure the tightness of the nut, check to see all bolts are tightened and to discover any bolts, nut, washer turning together.

Final Fastening: Final fastening is conducted by turning the nut 120°, after primary fastening and marking a group unit. Determine how many times the nut should be turned if the bolt length is over 5 times larger than the nominal diameter of the bolt.

Inspection after fastening: Visually examine the nut to confirm that it is within a -30° ~ +30° range of the specific nut rotation degree.

Characteristics

Over 550g/m² of zinc deposit.

The zinc deposit observes similar thickness as in other materials and boasts of long-term anticorrosive effect since the deposit is thicker than 350g/m² of zinc deposit of the middle strength bolt.

Screw portion of bolts and nuts are threaded before galvanizing

These parts are resistant against electrolytic corrosion since the screw is threaded before galvanizing and then finished with thorough galvanizing to the screw portion of the nuts.

Acid brittleness is eliminated to prevent delayed fracture

There is no danger or delayed fracture since acid brittleness has been eliminated.

An F8T strength and high toughness is maintained before and after galvanizing. No change in strength is seen as in galvanizing F10T bolt.
