This special gangway system is designed for mammoth tankers at crude oil terminals. It features explosion-proof electrical equipment (d2G4) and uses non-flammable materials such as aluminum, MC nylon, and copper alloy. The system operates with a built-in electro-hydraulic pump and electronic control for one-man operation. It adjusts to the tanker’s movements, and if the ladder exceeds its working range, an automatic release device separates it from the ship, preventing damage to both the tanker and the ladder.

This gangway is of electro-hydraulic type which travels by itself through independent power generation. It is used at busy ports where stationary installation of ladder is difficult due to frequent incoming and outgoing of ships. This has specially been developed for pleasure boats which require quick embarkation/disembarkation of many passengers in a short time. It has a clear width of 4 m allowing embarkation and disembarkation at the same time by railing or roping in the center of ladder. This is a ramp unit used for shifting cars between two decks. When not in use, it is hoisted up to the same level as the upper-side car deck by a jigger winch and locked in place by a set of hydraulic cylinders. , therefore, becomes a part of the watertight deck cover in its stowed position for maximum utilization of deck space.

The cargo lifter transports containers and trailers vertically to each deck. Operators choose the best handling method based on lifter location and purpose to meet specific requirements. Vertical movement eliminates the need for swiveling space, increasing carrying capacity. The hydraulic vertical drive, controlled electrically, enables full automation with overload safety detection. The W-chain or W-wire method provides added safety. Typically, the cargo lifter operates with a deck cover, housed in the lower deck and covered by the upper deck to maximize capacity.

The ramp body slides up and down to A or B Deck.
Wire, lifting rods, and cylinders enable smooth sliding of the ramp. Then, the ramp stows at A-Deck and serves as a door when closed, providing watertightness and structural strength as part of the shell. This ramp eliminates concerns about berthing conditions, allowing entry into ports with significant tidal ranges. Interlocks separate ramp stretching from vertical sliding operations to prevent accidents caused by misoperation.

A take-up winch opens and closes Ramp No. 1, while Ramp No. 2 operates with a take-up or hydraulic jigger winch. The hydraulic lock system and rubber seal ensure watertight storage. A push cylinder simplifies swinging out the ramp, and a lashing cylinder secures it against wave impacts during voyages. Operators remotely control the opening, closing, and hydraulic lock system with one touch, confirmed by an indicator light.

Hose Stream Test
We conducted a fire resistance test following IMO Resolution A.754 (18) and MSC Resolution 61 (67). After the 60-minute fire test, we performed the Hose Stream Test as per A.754 (18), and the window glass remained unbroken, with no penetration. As a result, the window passed as Class A60. This test, more stringent than the UL Standard Test, demonstrates our windows’ exceptional fire resistance.
