Description of PCA-2706XA-NIU

• The PCA-2706XA NIU enhances the FACP system with its microprocessor-based Arcnet controller and memory, designed for smooth communication across multiple FACPs. It works with the Main Control Unit (PCA-N3060-MCU) via RS-232C, providing vital status updates on port circuits and network connectivity. You can use the PC-based Configuration Program (PCCP) to efficiently manage and transmit data to the PCA-N3060-MCU.This assembly constructs the RS-485 network, facilitating communication with other FACPs on the network, enabling up to 195,840 addressable devices. For systems needing fiber optic connectivity, the PCA-2707XA FIM or PCA-N3060-FIM2 modules provide that option.

  Six status LEDs simplify monitoring:

  • [+5V] LED (green) ensures the system receives proper power.
  • [TXN] LED (green) confirms normal communication with the PCA-N3060-MCU.
  • [TXP] LED (green) indicates proper communication with PCCP.
  • [TXD] LED (green) tracks network communication.
  • [ATBL] LED (yellow) and [BTBL] LED (yellow) warn of open circuit issues in Port A and Port B respectively.

  The PCA-2706XA NIU draws 24 VDC from the Power Supply Module (PCA-N3060-PSU), converting it to 5 VDC through its DC/DC converter to power internal components. Additionally, the PCA-2707XA FIM or PCA-N3060-FIM2 modules are also powered by this unit when connected.
