This RS232C/RS422 converter is designed for harsh factory automation environments, with protection against lightning surges and static electricity.
Clears IEC standard test level 4, the highest level in its class.
Optical isolation between RS232C and RS422 prevents noise propagation.
Features a noise-proof internal circuit design for RS232C/RS422.
IEC standard test level 4 compliance:
– Surge Test: IEC61000-4-5, ±4kV
– Electrostatic Test: IEC61000-4-2, ±10kV
– EFT/Burst Test: IEC61000-4-4, ±2kV
Designed for paired use (two units).
RS422 connector has two RJ45 ports for crossover and straight cables.
Compatible with standard LAN cables, allowing for easy wiring and installation.
Enables conversion from RS232C to RS422 with extension up to 500 meters (tested with CAT6 cable).
Converts TXD/RXD, RTS/CTS, and DTR/DSR bidirectionally—suitable for control-line devices such as Mitsubishi sequencers and Omron PLCs.
USB extension is possible using a USB/RS232C converter (e.g., [DL-U232A] or equivalent).
Power supply is optional (provided by the user).
