Koken Hi-Luck 655-02 Disposable Dust Mask

Manufacturer: KOKEN LTD.
Model: Hi-Luck 655-02
Important points when wearing a respirator
Dust respirators use high-efficiency filters to prevent the inhalation of hazardous dust. To protect yourself from inhaling dust when wearing a dust respirator, the performance of this filter and the “tight seal” (fit) between the mask and your face are extremely important.
1. Filter Technology with High Particle Collection Efficiency
Mighty (Uni) Micron Filter
Through unique technology, the sheep wool is electrostatically charged, and this electrostatic force draws particles to the fiber surface. This is the primary mechanism for collecting particles. A high-density fiber structure is not required, thus integrating the two contrasting features of “high collection efficiency” and “low inhalation resistance.”
It consistently maintains the highest standard of performance and quality, and has been utilized for a long time as an outstanding filter.

Alpha Ring Filter
Increasing the filter’s fiber density improves collection efficiency. To meet airflow resistance standards, paper filters require an expanded surface area.
For the first time in Japan, ultra-fine fibers were formed into a pristine circular shape in a single process to create the Alpha Ring filter. Today, this filter continues to succeed in expanding the surface area while maintaining a compact shape, significantly reducing airflow resistance.

High-Performance Filter + Facepiece Designed for Easy Fit
2. Facepiece Fit Technology
Even if a dust respirator has a high collection efficiency filter, it is meaningless if dust leaks through the face-to-mask seal during use. This is primarily caused by a “gap at the face contact area when worn.”
We consider mask fit to be just as important as filter performance. Therefore, our company has long developed technologies to enhance the airtightness of the facepiece seal.

Silicone Facepiece
Silicone is a hypoallergenic material that is gentle on the skin. Its surface is flexible and effortlessly adapts to facial movements, ensuring a comfortable fit. The material also remains stable during use.
HAWC Lip Structure
The lip design ensures a high degree of adhesion, maximizing the “suction cup” effect when wearing the mask to ensure an airtight facial seal.
Free Position Under Chin
The unique curve of the face contact area prevents dust from leaking in. By aligning the nose portion first, it accommodates various facial dimensions, providing a secure fit for a wide range of face sizes (see image below).

Disposable Dust Respirators
FF Lip (Free Fit Lip)
The most important factor when choosing a disposable mask is ensuring a secure fit to the face. The reason the Hi-Luck series provides an excellent fit is that the FF Lip has a shape that easily adapts to various facial sizes and contours.
The FF Lip features a wide surface area and a soft design, providing superior sealing capability while easily conforming to facial movements. This prevents seal displacement during use, delivering a natural and tight seal as if the mask were custom-made.

Three Types of Straps to Choose From

Adjusting the Strap Length for a Perfect Fit
To ensure proper mask adhesion, “adjusting the strap length” is crucial. If the straps do not fit well or if a gap forms during work, it is unsafe.
- The straps must be positioned correctly for stability.
- Adjust the length to ensure a snug fit.
Uses a Synthetic Rubber Strap
The strap absorbs moisture well, feels soft against the skin, and prevents allergic reactions associated with natural rubber.

The strap length can be adjusted while wearing the mask to accommodate different facial sizes.
Easy to Wear – T-Type (Hook Style)
- Does not tangle hair.
- Adjustable strap length.

Simply pull the strap over the head, wrap it around the sides, and secure it with the hook.
Even Softer Wearing Feel (TK Hook Style)
- Does not tangle hair.
- Adjustable strap length and tension.

The tightness of the upper and lower straps can be individually adjusted for an optimal fit, reducing pressure on the ears.
Hi-Luck Series
Information on Hi-Luck 655-02 Respirator
DS2 Standard: Achieves a filtration efficiency of 95% or higher. Equipped with an exhalation valve design. This minimizes breathing condensation inside the mask and makes the inhalation/exhalation process easier.

- FF (Free Fit Lip)
- Shape Recovery
- Exhalation Valve
- Bipro Filter
Standard: Complies with TM598 certification, Assigned Protection Factor of 10.
Bipromicron Filter (Models 650, 655)
This is a high-performance filter recycled from the leftover raw materials of molded high-efficiency filters. The filter material is repurposed and processed into a new high-performance filter.
Recycled Material
We are effectively utilizing waste as a resource. This is an eco-friendly filter created from recycled filter materials.

Shape Recovery Structure (Models 550, 555 excluded)
The inside of the mask is reinforced with a shape-retaining mesh so that it does not lose its form when folded. This ensures the mask maintains its shape even when folded during breaks or short intervals.
Hygiene
- When not in use, you can fold the mask closed to prevent dust from entering the inside of the facepiece.
- During hot or cold seasons, moisture from breathing may penetrate the mask, but this does not affect its performance.
Completely Incinerable
The material contains no chloride compounds, so it does not generate toxic gases like dioxins when incinerated.

Metal-Free Design
With the FF Lip design, an excellent seal is achieved without the use of metal parts such as nose clips.
Features:
- FF Lip: The Free Fit Lip design improves airtightness and provides a secure fit to the face.
- Shape Recovery: Easily folds away during breaks or transit without losing its structural integrity.
- Exhalation Valve: Facilitates easier exhalation and reduces heat buildup.
- Bipro: Filter manufactured using recycled materials from ecological sources.
- Activated Carbon: Filters out low levels of ozone gas, aiding in air purification.

Regarding usage time:
When using a disposable respirator, the maximum use time is specified according to the standards of the Japanese Society of Respiratory Protection Engineers.
When supplied with 0.1g NaCl / minute at an airflow of 40L/minute, the usage time of this respirator will meet the Japanese national standard for dust respirators, until it exceeds 1.5 times the specified value.
However, you must replace the mask in the following situations:
- When breathing becomes difficult.
- When the mask is damaged or heavily soiled.
- When the mask becomes deformed.
