The TOWA QQ Fall Arrester is a leading type of fall protection device. It is very compact and easy to attach to a rope. There have been instances where accessories like cords are attached to fall arresters, rigged to follow along during descent. However, this can lead to accidents where the fall arrester’s locking mechanism fails to activate during device malfunctions, resulting in a fall. Additionally, attaching cords and manipulating them by hand to unlock the device is dangerous. In a panic, people instinctively do not let go of what they are holding. Using cords to connect to the descender during descent or pulling on them to disable the locking mechanism cannot prevent falls and is therefore extremely hazardous. Please absolutely avoid doing this.
