Koken HVP-S Pressure-Demand (Automatic)

Manufacturer: KOKEN LTD.
Model: HVP-S

OVERVIEW OF VITAS COMPRESSED AIR BREATHING APPARATUS

  • This is a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), where the user carries a high-pressure compressed air cylinder (hereinafter referred to as the cylinder). The pressure is reduced in 2 stages to ambient pressure to provide clean air to the wearer. The device allows for safe operation without inhaling air in a hazardous working environment.
  • Because the air is supplied from the cylinder carried by the user, the range of movement is not restricted like airline masks, allowing use over a wide area. (However, the usage time will be limited by the amount of air in the cylinder).
  • Complies with the JIS T 8155 standard.

HARNESS SECTION (CARRIER)

Excellent wearability thanks to an ergonomic design.

Burden on shoulders and lower back significantly reduced through load distribution (Series III)
The harness backplate is made of high-strength polyethylene plastic, features a 3D curve, is lightweight, and provides an excellent wearing feel. Wide lumbar pads and wide shoulder pads support the cylinder, distributing the weight acting on the wearer’s back, shoulders, chest, and lower back, thereby significantly reducing the burden during work and improving the fit.

Alarm Whistle Focus on safety and audibility

Assuming use in noisy sites, the alarm whistle is positioned close to the ear.

Pressure Gauge Can be checked even in the dark

The pressure gauge uses luminous paint, allowing users to check the scale graduations even in the dark.

Saver (Auxiliary Mask) [Optional]

Rescue Saver can be installed
This is a Saver (auxiliary mask) that can supply air from the cylinder to the victim during a rescue.
(A Saver coupling is required for the auxiliary mask. Also, it cannot be used for the Vitas anti-static/grounded type).

Pressure Reducer 29.4MPa Specification, Lightweight and Compact (Series III)

Vitas III has standardized the pressure reducer specifications at 29.4MPa. Functionality is enhanced thanks to a compact, lightweight design that eliminates redundant parts. The medium-pressure hose is a one-piece type that improves work efficiency. A Saver coupling can be connected. (Saver coupling specification is built-to-order).

One-Touch Cylinder Band Supports quick cylinder replacement

The one-touch buckle allows for quick cylinder replacement (comes with a safety lock mechanism). Most types of cylinders for breathing apparatuses can be installed by adjusting the mounting bracket.

Demand Valve

The Vitas demand valve has a large maximum flow rate, allowing sufficient respiration even during heavy work. Because the inhalation resistance remains almost unchanged even when the supplied air pressure changes, users can breathe smoothly.

There are 2 types of demand valves

Demand pressure type <Automatic> (Automatic positive pressure) – III-A

Demand pressure type (Manual switching) – III-P

Facepiece High Scope V Type Mask

Uses a highly airtight HAWC lip

HAWC lip face contact part

Equipped with a speech diaphragm (voice emitter)

Uses the “HAWC lip※” with a wide, flexible lip and a special curved face contact shape, creating our company’s unique suction cup effect. Achieves high airtightness, wide field of vision, and lightweight. Comes with a speech diaphragm that allows conversation even while wearing the mask.

※Abbreviation for High Adaptable Wide Concave

■ Head HarnessSelectable from 2 types

Superior in quick donning and stability.
Mesh Harness Type

Provides a secure wearing feel. (Standard specification).
Rubber Harness Type

HVP-S Model (Demand pressure type)

Standard: Complies with JIS T 8155
Assigned Protection Factor: 10000

The illustrated image is the HVP-S <Automatic> model

Specifications:

  • Only 14.7MPa cylinders can be installed.
  • This is a product specification equipped with a bell-type (knocking) alarm device right at the stop valve section.
  • The pressure gauge is connected via a high-pressure hose and located at the waist belt position (instead of on the chest like the Vitas III series).
  • The structure is designed so that air from the stop valve passes through the alarm unit first before flowing to the pressure reducer.
