♦ For use of reducing negative frictional force and load carrying test of foundation piles.

“LUB-CHEMICA” is a friction reducer developed by Nippon Chemical Paint.,Ltd.
If LUB-CHEMICA was painted to sheet piles before the piles are naild, the paint film absorbs  the water of the under the ground and swells. This swelled film works as a lubricant, and friction on the surface of those piles is reduced remarkably.

Properties

1. LUB-CHEMICA is liquid, so it does not need any exclusive lines.
2. It can be painted at any space in factory or on-site.
3. It is easy to paint with brush, air spray, airless spray, or roller
4. It dries quickly and becomes hard film. The painted article can be handled easily.

Examination for performance

We compared the strength when flat bar is pulled out from concrete. Flat bar had 3 kinds, LUB-CHEMICA painted, PILELOCK painted, and nothing painted.

Result of the examination

Following gragh shows how much stregth was need for each specimens to be pulled out.
By comparing thoes three, PILELOCK shows reducing friction and LUB-CHEMICA does much more. From this result, LUB-CHEMICA greately shows it’s performance for reducing friction.

Mechanism of reducing friction

After painted: High absorbent polymer floats in the paint film which is not dried yet.
After hardening and dried: High absorbent polymer exists in the hardened paint film.
After absorbing water and swelling: High absorbent polymer exists with absorbing water and making paint film swelled. This swelled paint film works as lubricant.
