These large pores effectively target high-molecular-weight organic compounds, such as musty-odor geosmin and trihalomethane-precursor humic substances. Water treatment plants also employ TA-30C in bioactivated carbon processes, where microorganisms colonize the carbon surface.

Coconut-Based (Plant) Activated Carbon TA-30N
Processed from coconut shells, TA-30N features dense micropores and a larger specific surface area. These small pores excel at trapping low-molecular-weight organic compounds like 2-MIB and trihalomethanes. Thanks to its high hardness and superior surface area, TA-30N also removes free residual chlorine better than coal-based alternatives.
