Application

Drencher systems are fire-fighting devices that protect buildings from fire. Under the Fire Service Act, they are defined as an alternative to sprinkler heads or as a criterion for determining whether a building is subject to fire protection regulations. These specialized configurations protect high-value national treasures and heritage properties worldwide. By lining the exterior envelope with drencher heads, an automated sensor or human operator can instantly trip the deluge valve. The resulting water curtain deflects external embers and radiant heat fluxes, while theatrical safety systems leverage this same thermal barrier to isolate stage hazards from the audience.
