Nippon Furnace began manufacturing combustion burners after World War II through technical licensing agreements with well-known companies like Bloom, Coen, Pillard, and Forney. Later, it introduced high-efficiency burners developed in its own R&D facilities, securing a strong position in the combustion market. In 1987, the company intensified R&D efforts to develop the High Cycle Regenerative Combustion System (HRS) to address global environmental concerns and economic growth. Adopted in Japan’s High Performance Furnace Development Project, HRS burners have, since 1999, demonstrated a 30% reduction in fuel consumption and NOx emissions. NFK’s burners are now acclaimed worldwide for their efficiency and quality.

Regenerative Burners (HRS Burners)
HRS (High Cycle Regenerative Combustion System) burners have achieved outstanding energy savings by means of ultra high pre-heated air combustion and high efficiency waste heat recovery systems. These were realized by use of NFK’s patented ceramic honeycomb regenerating media and CEM (Cross Exchange Mechanism), a four-way Switching Device. The HRS-ULN(ultra low NOx) burners based on the latest fuel staging combustion theory have also set a new standard in reducing NOx emissions.
Four Way Valve
(Cross Exchange Mechanism-CEM)
CEM is for The operation of two sets (one pair) of regenerative burners. The four way valve makes possible both air feeding and flue gas exhaust with a single exchange valve. The advantages of CEM in comparison with conventional valve systems (four sets of valves required) are as follows:
