The system offers high versatility and, therefore, supports operations such as roughing, finishing, pin turning, and face grooving. At the same time, coolant flows through all components to the cutting edge, which improves cooling and extends tool life. In addition, the components mount securely on the extension slide, and this stable design enhances machining safety. Moreover, flanges with a CKN connection transmit high torque while maintaining a lightweight structure. Furthermore, high-strength, hard-coated aluminum combined with nickel-coated steel provides durable, scratch- and corrosion-resistant surfaces. Finally, a two-piece counterweight with a slide and scale enables quick and accurate balancing without a balancing machine.

The Series 318 Large Diameter Boring System targets heavy roughing and, therefore, machines bores up to 619.76 mm (24.4″) in diameter. At the same time, its lightweight and rigid design supports stable cutting speeds of up to 6600 SFM. Moreover, the system integrates smoothly with production machines such as boring mills and machining centers, particularly those using spindle tapers of 40 or larger. In addition, aluminum extension slides in multiple lengths support a wide range of aluminum and steel components for roughing and finishing. Furthermore, precisely pinned and bolted mounting components ensure accurate positioning, while incremental scales on the insert holders simplify exact diameter and length adjustment without a tool presetter.
