• The manual recommends using four polyurethane foams (PUFs) per sampling run, each 10 cm in diameter and 5 cm in height, with two for measurement and two for backup.
• A Soxhlet extractor is prepared to process all four PUFs in a single cleaning and extraction run.
• The PUFs swell in solvents and return to their proper size after drying.
• Residual moisture in the PUF reduces extraction efficiency, so a moisture removal function is included to improve performance.
• When using high–boiling-point solvents such as toluene, condensed moisture can be separated and removed from the solvent.
• After extraction, the solvent collected in the moisture removal section can be discharged through a valve for partial concentration.
