Overview
The Aegis® Shaft Voltage Tester is a 100MHz digital oscilloscope, factory preset with optimal settings for measuring shaft voltage in rotating machinery.

Voltage that causes bearing damage and lubrication degradation such as electrical discharge
Various causes lead to potential differences (voltage) between the bearings supporting rotating machinery, with particular concern arising from motors controlled by inverters.
Bearings have an oil film; when the voltage rises beyond tolerance, discharges occur, causing electric currents. This can lead to the melting of bearing steel, an increase in iron particle concentration in bearing grease, and carbonization of grease due to discharge heat, resulting in blackened grease. It’s essential to confirm that it’s not just the detrimental effects of current flow known as “bearing currents” (Ridge marks) but also grease degradation.
The Aegis® Shaft Voltage Tester can easily measure the voltage between the rotating shaft and the frame (housing).

The Aegis® Shaft Voltage Tester™ (AEGIS-OSC-9200) is a CAT II/III digital oscilloscope equipped with everything necessary to measure voltage on a rotating motor shaft. This 2-channel, 100 MHz digital oscilloscope features a 5.6″ TFT LCD color display, Japanese language support, a sampling rate of 1 Gsa/s to 50 GSa/s, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack that provides up to 5 hours of operation. Moreover, it includes USB ports and flash drive storage for easy data transfer.

The screen capture function simplifies data collection for measurement reports and analysis. With just a press of the Print button, you can easily save screen images to a USB drive.
Multimeter Functionality
In addition to oscilloscope functions, this device combines multimeter and recorder capabilities. The multimeter can measure resistance (Ω), continuity, diode capacitance, DC/AC voltage, and DC/AC current.
