Note (1): Not suitable for gas applications where leakage to the outside is not acceptable.

Operation Description

  1. The bucket floats due to the buoyancy of the air inside it.
A small amount of air escapes through a hole in the top of the bucket and is released via the valve seat outlet, but air is replenished into the bucket from the inlet side, so the bucket stays afloat.
  2. When condensate enters, the amount of air inside the bucket decreases, causing it to lose buoyancy and sink, opening the valve to discharge the condensate.
  3. When air enters the bucket again, it regains buoyancy, floats up, and closes the valve.

Example of Use

Please refer to page 208 of the technical document titled “Examples of Steam Trap Usage.”

Precautions for Use

  1. When installing, be sure to fill the valve chamber with priming water.
  2. If the test rod is pressed frequently, the water inside the valve chamber may run out, possibly causing air leakage.
