Compared to the ESCC 3901/002, our cables are 10% smaller and 21% lighter, all while meeting the qualifications of ESCC 3901/025.

The smaller diameter of GORE Space Cables increases flexibility, allowing for tighter bend radii and easier routing. Enhanced color coding also simplifies cable identification, enabling faster installation.

The Science Behind GORE Space Cables

The superior performance of GORE Space Cables stems from the innovative insulation material, expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE). This advanced insulation enhances the cable’s flexibility, allowing it to bend and flex without damaging the conductors. ePTFE also eliminates the need for trimming frayed insulation, and its unique construction reduces the cable’s overall diameter, making it ideal for tight enclosures.

GORE Space Cables, Type CSC are frequently used for:

  • analog signal transmission (box-to-box)
  • power and low-frequency signal distribution

Notably, the cables were selected for use in the Meteosat Third Generation and will be incorporated into the new Euclid and Cosmo satellite configurations.
