Product Description
The LoRa radio RS-485 communication model HLR-RS485 converts RS-485 communication (Modbus compliant) to LoRa radio. This allows wireless data transmission to a higher-level system.
It can connect to the following devices and transmit data wirelessly via LoRa. The data can then be monitored through an IoT gateway.
Compatible models:
- Electronic multimeter: XM2/XS2
- Power converter: TWPS
- Power multi-converter: TWPM/TWP5M
- Simple power converter: TWPM-E
- Pulse input converter: TWPP
- Contact input converter: TWP8C (8 points)
When used in pairs, the HLR-RS485 can transmit RS-485 signals wirelessly via LoRa. It can then convert these signals back to RS-485 to connect to devices like PLCs.
LoRa (*) is used for wireless communication. It allows line-of-sight communication up to 5 km between the HLR-GW IoT gateway and the paired HLR-RS485. This long-range communication reaches places where conventional 920 MHz low-power wireless cannot, without needing a repeater. Customers have responded well to this feature.
*This device uses LoRa Private.
Features
Data transmission is possible by converting wired (RS-485: Modbus) to wireless (LoRa).
LoRa wireless communication works even with Modbus devices from other companies. (Software changes may be required: please contact us separately.)
An external antenna can also be installed.
