Features
(1) Obtained by pulverizing alumina refined by the Bayer method.
(2) Compared to brown fused alumina, it has slightly higher hardness and slightly lower toughness.
■ White Alumina (WA), with special adhesion and coating, is used to make abrasives for polishing very hard steels such as high carbon steels, alloy steels and high speed steels.
■ Applications other than abrasives include precision casting sand, spray coating materials, catalyst materials, high-temperature ceramics, and super refractories.
