Ishikawa Insect Screen/Screen Replacement Woven Wire Mesh

Made in Japan
Manufacturer: ISHIKAWA WIRE NETTING Co., Ltd.
Model: Insect Screen/Screen Replacement

Ishikawa Wire Netting began replacing screen doors (attaching wire mesh to screen doors) in the 1960s as a subcontract factory for Nippon Steel Corporation’s subsidiary, “Nippon Steel Curtain Wall.” It has been commissioned by sash manufacturers to replace screen doors and has been installing insect screens (wire mesh for screen doors) on a variety of sashes. We sell insect screens, rubber restrainers, and screen doors, and perform screen installation processing according to customer requests.
Insect screens (wire mesh for screen doors) come in a variety of types, from general resin (plastic) to durable wire mesh made of stainless steel.
Screen doors are made of a variety of materials, including aluminum, steel, and wood.
Screen installation processing (attaching wire mesh to screen doors) can be done for a variety of sizes, from small sashes to large sashes.

Insect screen (wire mesh for screen doors)

They are mainly used for screen doors and ventilation ducts, but there are various types of insect screens (wire screens) depending on the environment in which they are used, such as rural areas, mountainous areas, cities, cold regions, coastal areas, hot spring areas, etc.
Generally, they are made of plastic, but there are also metal ones such as stainless steel and aluminum.
We have a variety of insect screens available depending on the environment in which they are used.

Q. How effective is the insect repellent net?
Until now, the net was usually effective for three years, but with the development of new technology, the net is now effective for about six years.

Q.Is there a bug screen that blocks the view from outside?
There are black (inside) and silver (outside) bug screens that are difficult to see from outside but allow the view to be seen clearly from inside. They work
by using the diffuse reflection of sunlight to create a privacy effect. They are not effective at night or on windows that are not exposed to sunlight.

Q. Are there any screen doors that won’t tear even if pets (dogs and cats) scratch them with their claws?
There are pet defenses made
of polyester with a vinyl coating. Stainless steel wire mesh is even stronger.

Q. Can insects smaller than mosquitoes be prevented from entering?
The role of insect screens is to prevent insects from entering, but how many insects are prevented from entering depends on the environment in which they are used. The
size of the mesh of the insect screen also changes depending on the size of the insects.
Insect screens and screen doors sold in stores have 16 or 18 mesh. They
can accommodate insects the size of mosquitoes, but they cannot prevent smaller insects.
Also, in areas where dust is blown around, sand can get in through the mesh when the wind blows.
We have insect screens with finer mesh.

Q. My insect screen rusts quickly. Is there anything I can do about it?
In coastal areas, salty winds blow, so insect screens made of standard SUS304/stainless steel rust quickly.
We recommend SUS316/stainless steel wire mesh, which is relatively rust-resistant.
However, in areas where the screens are exposed directly to seawater, corrosion will progress quickly.
In that case, we recommend titanium, although it is more expensive.

Q. What are the standards for insect screens (wire mesh for screen doors)?
Insect screens are generally woven using a plain weave method. Vertical and horizontal lines are spaced apart and cross each other one by one.
The size of the mesh is measured in units of mesh. Mesh refers to the number of mesh holes per inch (25.4 mm). The
larger the mesh, the finer the mesh, preventing the intrusion of smaller insects.

Insect screens used in screen doors have a large void ratio so that the outside scenery can be seen easily.
The length between the lines is called the “opening”. It represents the size of the space in the mesh. The ratio of the space to the mesh is called the void ratio. It is expressed as void ratio (%) = 100 x (opening ÷ pitch)2. Even wire mesh with the same void ratio will have completely different openings, so when choosing wire mesh, you basically choose based on two values, mesh and wire diameter, rather than void ratio. A larger void ratio makes it easier to see the outside scenery, but to increase the void ratio, the wire diameter needs to be thinner for the same mesh. However, a thinner wire diameter reduces strength. The standards differ depending on whether you prioritize strength or transmittance.
Please refer to the standard table to select.

Criteria for selecting stainless steel insect screen (wire mesh)

Type A is a standard product developed for residential screen doors.
Type B has a thicker wire diameter, making it stronger than the standard product. The
increased strength results in a lower void ratio, resulting in slightly lower breathability and permeability.
Type C is a standard for preventing the intrusion of smaller insects.
Type D is a standard set by fire prevention regulations for preventing ignition.
Ventilation ducts for hazardous material storage facilities. Used at the end of ventilation pipes in hazardous material facilities.
Type E is an insect-proof screen (wire mesh) used in metal fittings for ventilation openings.

Product Introduction of Insect-Replacement Net

An insect repellent net with completely new functions! It
has a double effect of both medicine and mesh.
When an insect touches the net, it takes effect and
the insect does not remain.
The medicine lasts for about 3 years, and
is stable and effective for a long time.
It does not evaporate or transpire, and has no odor.

Due to the effect of the chemicals, even if insects come, they cannot stay on the net and eventually fly away. The formula “keeps insects away without killing them”, so the amount of chemicals used is very small. Since it does not kill insects, the area around the windows will not get dirty.

*Effects vary depending on the target insect.

The insecticide seeps out little by little and remains stable for a long period of time, so trace amounts of drug are always present on the surface.

6-2. Polypropylene (PP) + “Vermethrin” insect-proof screen: Long-lasting insect repellent from screen doors (NBC Mesh Tech)

Mesh Mesh size (mm) Width (mm) Length (m) Grey black
22 x 20 1.03 910 30

Insect-repellent netting with chemicals for replacing screen doors. Insect-repellent netting that keeps insects from staying on. Effectiveness has been extended. About 6 years!! The
double effect of the core-sheath structure and microcapsules allows the active ingredients that insects dislike to seep out from inside the thread to the surface of the thread.
The double structure ensures long-lasting effectiveness and safety!!

7. Polyester (PET) + Nafitec insect screen: Amidology (NBC Meshtec)
1) Amidology is super easy to clean

The super-hydrophilic finish makes it possible to remove dirt simply by pouring water on it, making the previously time-consuming task of washing screen doors simple and easy.
In addition, since detergents and other cleaning agents are no longer required, this is a very economical and environmentally friendly screen door net.

Mesh

・”Photocatalytic” to break down dirt. ・”Super hydrophilic” to remove
dirt simply by pouring water.
・”Visibility” to suppress light scattering and provide excellent visibility.

2) Amidology Clean “Shining” Net

Nanoparticle fixation technology makes this screen net less susceptible to dust and dirt. This reduces the maintenance required for screen nets on skylights and windows with bars, which have been difficult to reach and clean up until now, and allows them to be kept clean and hygienic.

Mesh

mesh Mesh size (mm) Width (mm) Length (m) black
20 910 30

– Dustproof to prevent dirt and dust from sticking
– Ventilation to prevent clogging and allow for good ventilation
– Visibility to reduce light scattering for excellent visibility

3) Amidology – No insects allowed

Quality control is important in manufacturing sites. If even small insects get in, it can cause problems in terms of quality and management. “No Insects Allowed” has been developed by investigating flying insects and achieving a mesh size that insects cannot get in.
In addition, nanoparticle fixation technology makes it difficult for dust to accumulate and allows for sufficient ventilation.

Criteria for selecting plastic insect screens

● Choose by mesh size
The mesh size is expressed as “mesh”, and the larger the number, the finer the mesh. Choose according to your preference for insect resistance and ventilation.

・18 mesh…1.15mm mesh. This is the net that is initially attached to the screen door.
・20 mesh…1.03mm mesh, the most economical replacement net. If ventilation is important to you, this is it.
・24 mesh…0.84mm mesh, the most popular with a good balance of ventilation and mesh.
・26 mesh…0.78mm mesh. A fine mesh net with enhanced insect repellency. Thin threads are used to ensure ventilation.
・30 mesh…0.67mm mesh. Even finer mesh. For those who are concerned about small insects.

●Choose by color
All relatively recent screen doors have black netting. This is because the black netting is less noticeable and allows you to see the outside scenery more clearly.
On the other hand, if you are concerned about people looking in from outside, choose “Silver Black Magic” or “Super Magic.”

・Gray: The former mainstream.
・White gray: A net that is quite close to white. It’s up to your preference.
・Black: The current mainstream. It gives you a clear view of the outside.
・Blue: While supplies last.
・Silver black: The outside is silver and the inside is black. It looks clear from inside, but blocks the view from outside.

●Choose by function
There are also nets with functions other than color and mesh.

・Silver Black Magic
For when you are worried about people looking at you from the outside.

・Net that insects hate
Double effect of mesh and chemicals. A new chemical-containing net that keeps insects away without killing them.

Pet Defense:
For homes with pets. Extremely durable and gentle on pet claws.

– DioExceed
PVC + fiberglass is extremely durable. It won’t fray, so it’s great for crafts.

*The standard length is 30m, but we can cut it to your desired length and width for sale. There will be an additional cutting fee.
