Features
- As input torque increases with the adoption of column-assisted electric power steering, the yoke—an essential component of the steering joint—requires both high rigidity and flexibility.
- Cold-forged yokes provide higher rigidity than steel plate pressed yokes due to the fiber flow effect, and at the same time, they offer superior toughness (flexibility) compared to hot-forged yokes.
- For this reason, cold forging is selected to achieve an optimal balance of strength and flexibility.
