This is an ultrasonic transmission type web edge detector. It is used in combination with the Q-series control panel and drive unit to control web meandering. Because it is not affected by the transparency, color, or pattern of the web, it is suitable for detecting transparent objects. Also, because it is more compact than the PS-400, it can be used in confined spaces.

The PS-45 ultrasonic detector is approximately half the size of our previous model (PS-400). This allows for installation in locations where space limitations previously prevented installation. - Stable detection using ultrasonic technology
By detecting changes in airborne ultrasound, the system can reliably detect web edges, regardless of the color, pattern, or transparency of various webs.
