Making Passenger and Freight Vessels Safer and More Comfortable
Large marine vessels transport goods and people worldwide, requiring optimization measures for safety, efficiency, and environmental impact. Nabtesco assists by supplying main engine remote control systems and related services for medium-size to large vessels.
We rapidly meet the demand for both mechanical and future-focused electronically controlled engine control systems. These efforts, alongside our global MRO offices and comprehensive after-sales service, pursue environmentally friendly technologies while enhancing vessel safety and navigation.
Nabtesco holds an estimated 50% domestic and 40% global market share for vessel engine remote control systems.
Social Value Provided by the Business
We supply highly safe, reliable, and environment-friendly marine vessel equipment for use in vessels, which provide a way to move goods and people with low environmental impact per unit moved. Through such equipment, we help reduce the environmental impact of vessels and assist with their safe navigation, as well as to safe and stable maritime transportation.
We work on technological reforms that contribute to the manufacture of smart ships and decarbonization, as well as to sound development of the shipbuilding and marine vessel equipment industries.
Main Products
This system enables remote control of the vessel’s diesel engine from the ship’s bridge and/or control room, and has functions for outputting commands to control the engine speed (rpm) and for monitoring engine status. Equipped with advanced network functions and a liquid-crystal display, the system provides outstanding operability and expandability.
Each diesel engine cylinder is equipped with one electronically controlled hydraulic valve, which electronically controls the timing and amount of fuel injection and the timing at which the exhaust valve opens and closes. The valve contributes to higher fuel economy and is attracting much attention as an environmentally friendly component.
GAP sensors monitor the behavior of engine fuel injection pumps and exhaust valves. The sensor issues an alarm when an abnormality is detected, thereby increasing the reliability of electronic diesel engine control systems.
