What is an AW washer?
Used with AN nuts, it has one tooth on the inside and multiple teeth on the outside.
How to use AW washers
The inner teeth fit into a groove cut into the shaft, and one of the outer teeth is folded into a groove on the outer circumference of the AN nut to prevent loosening.
Like AN nuts, they are manufactured in accordance with the JIS standard “JIS B 1552”.
Material, size
There are two materials to choose from, SPCC/SPHC (steel) and SUS304 (stainless steel), and a total of 15 sizes to choose from, ranging from M10 to M70.
Applications
Adapter sleeves, removal sleeves, and star washers for bearing nuts for general bearings
