By shaping the flexible support material to match the aircraft’s surface, we give it exactly the right flexibility, so we can manufacture bellows for a wide range of aircraft. Moreover, we simplify the opening–closing mechanism so the door opens naturally under its own weight, and therefore we can open and close it with a simple mechanism without using actuators such as cylinders.
