Biocross #9500BS uses bio-soluble fiber (BSF, a biodegradable fiber) woven in a plain weave and reinforced with stainless steel wire.
Features
“Not subject to RCF regulations”
- BSF fibers, made by dissolving AES (alkaline earth silicate) wool, provide low thermal conductivity and minimal biological persistence. Exposure to bodily fluids dissolves part of the fiber, allowing it to exit the body, making it a biodegradable fiber with low health impact. The product complies with the EU’s Dangerous Substances Directive exemption standard and avoids regulation under Japan’s “Special Regulations for the Prevention of Hazards due to Specified Chemical Substances.”
Applications
This product serves as a substitute for RCF (refractory ceramic fibers) in high-temperature insulation, exhaust duct insulation, and similar uses.
