Sanwa Tekki Oil Dampers
Made in: Japan
Manufacturer: SANWA TEKKI
Model : Oil Dampers
Established in 1953, our company has been at the forefront of developing innovative anti-seismic devices, including both hardware and software, primarily for pipelines and boilers in power plants. Our products have garnered widespread use and acclaim, especially in high-safety environments like domestic and international nuclear power plants, finding applications in various fields. The escalating demand for earthquake and vibration solutions has fueled our innovation in vibration damping and avoidance technologies.
In architecture, the trend towards taller and lighter high-rise buildings has amplified the need for our advanced vibration control technologies, ensuring safety and comfort in residential spaces and safeguarding the performance of precision equipment. Leveraging our extensive expertise, we have developed a versatile range of oil dampers suitable for various applications, architecture included.
Our oil dampers utilize hydraulic fluid resistance in a cylinder valve to generate the necessary damping forces, showcasing speed-proportional damping properties and reduced temperature and repetition dependence. These features ensure their exceptional performance across a wide array of vibrations, from wind-induced building sway to seismic events as intense as the 1995 Great Hanshin and Awaji Earthquake.
Furthermore, our oil dampers have become integral in both the construction and seismic strengthening of various structural forms, including steel frame, steel-framed reinforced concrete, and reinforced concrete structures, demonstrating their versatility and effectiveness in enhancing structural resilience
Types of oil dampers
Our lineup includes standard linear and bilinear type oil dampers, as follows:
Model | Feature | Damper structure | Damping force-speed characteristics |
---|---|---|---|
Linear type | An oil damper that is equipped with a sole pressure regulating valve and delivers damping force as represented by the F = CV straight line. | ||
Bilinear type | An oil damper that is equipped with a pressure regulating valve and relief valve and delivers a damping force that increases in proportion to speed until the given speed is reached and at a lower rate after the given speed is exceeded. |
— Horizontal type (250 to 2,000 kN)
— Braced type (250 to 2,000 kN)
— Small capacity type (10 to 200 kN)
Force application test
At our previous Tadotsu Engineering Test Center, we performed a force application test on an actual-sized frame, integrating an oil damper as a brace to rigorously assess and confirm the building’s vibration damping capabilities.
* In addition to oil dampers for architectural applications, we develop oil dampers for use with bridges, cranes, and equipment that meet various needs and can design oil dampers to meet various conditions. For more information, please contact our sales liaison team.
