Standard Test Specimen for Magnetic Powder Testing (JIS Z 2320-1)
– In the model numbers of A1 and A2 type standard test pieces, the left side of the shaded line indicates the depth of the artificial defects and the right side of the shaded line indicates the thickness of the plate. (Unit: µm).
The strength of the magnetic field in which the magnetic powder pattern appears is higher for Type A2 standard specimens than for Type A1 standard specimens.
– Type C standard test piece is used when it is difficult to apply Type A standard test piece due to its size. Example: Narrow areas such as weld bevel surfaces.
