This is an ultrasonic transmission type web edge sensor. It is used in combination with G-series controllers and drive units for controlling web meandering. Because it is not affected by the transparency, color, or pattern of the web, it is suitable for edge detection of transparent objects.

Features

Because the web edge position is detected by changes in the amount of ultrasonic waves transmitted, it can be accurately detected without being affected by color, pattern, or transparency.
The “W” type, with its small throat, is mainly used for roll guides, while the “WX” type, with its larger throat, is mainly used for winding and unwinding trolleys.
The “46WS” and “46WXS” models, which come with a switch panel, are convenient because mode switching and teaching operations can be performed directly on the sensor unit. Furthermore, models with a switch panel can be used in a simpler system (driver and sensor only) without the need for a PEM-type controller.
