This is a chuck for shaftless unwinding and winding devices.
After the core is set, the thrust generated when the chuck mounting section of the device moves forward causes the lugs to extend and chuck the core.

Features

• Even with the same thrust, a mechanical chuck guarantees a more secure grip than a tapered cone.
  Mechanical chuck: Presses lugs, pushed up along the tapered surface, against the inner surface of the core.
  Tapered cone: Presses the end of the core against it, transmitting torque through line contact.
