- In Southeast Asia, where private two- and four-wheeled vehicles have not yet become widespread, more than 10 million shared taxis are a daily source of activity for ordinary citizens. However, most of the local shared taxis use used cars and used engines, and the exhaust gas emitted from the vehicles causes a lot of air pollution, and the vehicle safety standards, inspections, and maintenance standards are not in place, so it is said that it causes traffic congestion due to vehicle breakdowns.

In Southeast Asian countries, mainly China, so-called eco-cars, which are electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid cars, and vehicles equipped with engines that meet emission standards such as Euro 5, are recognized due to air pollution and deteriorating infrastructure, and they are being promoted by developing subsidies and other legislation. In light of this trend, we believe that there is a strong need for the introduction of eco-friendly cars in the shared taxi market, and since 2012 we have been working on the development of low-speed electric vehicles (E-Trikes) with the aim of improving the local environment and developing new jobs, and completed a prototype in 2013. In the same year, we became the first Japanese company in the Philippines to obtain a vehicle license plate for an electric three-wheeled vehicle, and we have repeatedly conducted on-site driving tests.
