The ceramic probe(ZrO2) cuts off magnetism and without iron powder attached. Outstanding wear-resistance.
How to use
1. Equip the shank of the edge finder to a drill chuck or milling chuck; manually shift the probe slightly off its centre and let it rotate eccentrically.
2. Gently move the rotating edge finder closer and closer to the measured workpiece; when contact is established, eccentricity gets smaller. The probe (tip) then stops rotating.
3. Gently shift the probe again to make contact with the workpiece; the probe then will slide along the surface of the workpiece. This position is the reference position distanced 5mm away from the probe diameter.
