Handling of rubber

1. Rubber is contaminating.
Rubber can stain (discolor) the colors of other colors of rubber, plastics, paints, liquids, paper, wood, textiles, etc. that it comes in contact with. This property is called rubber contamination, and it can be an inconvenient factor depending on the application. The main causes of contamination are anti-aging, vulcanization accelerators and softeners.

2. There is a smell.
The rubber and the sponge itself have an odor, and if you use it indoors, the smell will be muffled.

3. Rubber blooms.
The formulation may move to the surface of the rubber, crystallize or ooze out with liquid. If it’s a powder, it’s called blooming, and if it’s a liquid, it’s called bleed. Vulcanizing agents such as sulfur, plasticizers such as vulcanization accelerators, antioxidants, softeners, etc., etc., depending on the amount used, this decrease occurs regardless of whether it is vulcanized rubber or unvulcanized rubber. In general, blooming is not considered a good thing. You may also be subject to a claim by blooming. However, when it comes to which is better in terms of performance, a product that does not bloom or a product that blooms, it is very dangerous and necessary to be careful to make a decision based on this phenomenon alone. You can’t say it’s good because it doesn’t bloom.
