Application example

(1) If the mass of the rotating body lacks uniformity with respect to the rotating shaft, resulting in an imbalance, it will exert centrifugal force, which can cause damage to bearings, rotors, holding structures, etc.

(2) There are many causes of unbalanced vibration, such as rotor eccentricity, unevenness, and deflection. In addition, unbalance may occur due to corrosion, wear, deposits, etc. due to aging. In grinders and the like, dressers and grinding cause its imbalance.

(3) A field balancer can correct the balance while the rotor is attached, saving a significant amount of money and time compared to disassembling the machine and using a stationary balancing machine.

(4) The variation in the mass of the rotating body results in one heavy spot (two in the two-plane balance correction method) due to vector synthesis of the imbalance causes. Balancing efficiently involves determining the location and amount of that heavy spot.
